Among Women
The current beauty ideal in Iran is shaped by various factors, with both Western influences and traditional fashion playing significant roles. Despite societal limitations, today’s young generation in Iran has managed to navigate between modernity and tradition to define their own beauty standards.
The documentary „Among Women“ explores the daily lives of the young Iranian generation and their pursuit of the ideal of beauty. I accompany them on various days and at different locations, such as at home, in the hair salon, during shopping, and even into the operating room during their cosmetic procedures.
